Maastricht, The 16th of August 2010
Mise en Place and Human Talent Consultancy are satisfied when looking back on the 2010 FIFA World Cup South AfricaTM.
From the 11th of June till the 11th of July the world’s greatest sporting event, the 2010 FIFA World CupTM, took place in South Africa. Human Talent Consultancy (HTC), who already had a test run during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa and which is part of the Mise en Place Group, recruited and trained the thousands of young South Africans who worked at the different venues including skyboxes, VIP lounges and restaurants within the different stadiums.

A man power of thousand people working per match
The enormous amount of personnel that was needed for the world cup provided HTC with a huge challenge. Already during the first match at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, when, host country South Africa had to kick off against Mexico, an appeal was made to the improvisational abilities of HTC. Outside the stadium a small army of proud South Africans were eager to get started, but because of the internet connection being offline they were not able to be checked in. This challenge was faced by HTC on the spot and the activities during the match were carried out smoothly. This also applied to the remaining matches in the group phase and the subsequent knock-out phase. The final at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg on the 11th of July had no fewer than 1.600 employees working and everything went smoothly.

Significantly exceeded expectations
When hosting the world championship was awarded to South Africa, people where skeptic. They were wondering if South Africa, as the first African country, would be able to organize an event of this magnitude. The naturally present hospitable nature and kindness of the South African people, coupled with the four day crash course of HTC, ensured that the goal, 'exceed the expectations of your guests' was reached. From the reactions of many guests it was noted that their expectations were indeed exceeded. Mise en place and HTC said that they were very proud to be able to be part of such a unique event and challenging project. The warmth and heart shown by the South African people made for more than one emotional moment when it was time to say goodbye.
